Verifiers accredited by the NAHB Research Center for National Green Building Certification are expected to independently confirm, through a process of document review and on-site inspections that all green program requirements and points specified by a builder are in place for a candidate home.

The resources below were created to assist those accredited, or in the process of becoming accredited green home certification verifiers.
The Verification Reports are Excel documents, available only to accredited verifiers, that contain all of the checklist items from either the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines or the ICC 700-2008 National Green Building Standard. A verifier must manually enter points claimed and points approved in one of these two spreadsheets, and submit to the NAHB Research Center for final certification of a building.
The Verifier's Resource Guide, available only to accredited verifiers, provides clear guidance on what to look for and when to give points during the rough and final inspections of homes submitted for certification to either the Guidelines or the Standard. Both the Guidelines and Standard are covered in separate sections of the Guide.
The Verification Process outlines the steps to follow when verifying a green home.
